This year's Party in the Park and Battle of the Bands final will take place on the 6th August with a much earlier start at 2pm. We have an even bigger and louder show for you this year with two stages, music all day and night, two headline acts, traders, a licensed bar, bouncy castles and more...
We have TWO headline acts this year, first on the stage we have tributed to Rock icon Lemmy we have Motorhead tribute: MotorKill and then on the main stage we will bring you Hi-On Maiden (The Official Iron Maiden Tribute Band).
The party starts at 2pm, NO TICKETS NEEDED, all we ask is to please pay a donation on entry, without your donations we can't put this event on! ALL AGES WELCOME.
Throughout the day will be a selection of local traders and market stalls with food & drink and entertainment including: A licensed Bar - Bouncy Castles - Food Vendors - Circus Workshops - Childrens Fairground Rides - Craft Workshops - Walk About Acts - Childrens Entertainment - Head Masseuse - Professional Piercing Artiste - Alternative Clothing & Merch Stalls.
Our special guest and MC, West Country comedian Cerys Nelmes will be opening the mainstage at 2pm and to start the afternoon off are some local community projects: The Turning Tides Project, The Footsteps School of Dance and The Get Changed Theatre.
Hosting the second stage will be Steve Lay, local radio DJ on Bude Bay Radio. He'll open up the "Lemmy" stage at 3:45pm along with the genre transcending BB Blackdog.
We'll then move on to some local acts including Okehampton's own neo-victorian Steampunk group The Copperfield Ensemble and last year's runner up Black Static with their unique live Drum and Bass.
Covering a wide range of musical tastes from Acoustic to Metal, the Okehampton Battle of the Bands 2016 final will start at 5:45pm where we'll bring you the five acts that have been brought through from the heats.
