Pseudomorph declared winners of Okehampton Batttle of the Bands 2015
Okehampton's Simmons Park welcomed a massive crowd for our "Best of British" party featuring Professor Elemental and Who's Next and which saw Pseudomorph crowned the 2015 Battle of the Bands champions.
With the crowd pouring in to the park, our host for the evening Professor Elemental took to the stage to get things started.
First band to take the stage, The Morales from Crediton. These four young chaps were looking a little nervous back stage, but that instantly passed as soon as they hit those first notes. Their sparkling guitar riffs and energetic rhythm section brought the park to life, a great opening to the evening.
While we swapped bands, Okehampton's Mayor was welcomed on stage to present a cheque for £500 on behalf of Okehampton Town Council. These are the kind of donations that are essential to make this event happen.
Next on, upping the pace and loudness was 5 piece metal band from Exeter, Skyborn. Big, powerful vocals with melodic leads and a heavy, tight rhythm section, Skyborn brought some metal to Party in the Park.
And now for something totally different and unique, Black Static from Tavistock. Live Drum & Bass is a first for the park stage, these guys really have something special. Fast, energetic drums - locked in, tight bass lines - perfectly dropped samples - amazing vocals.
Ten Zero One from Tavistock were next, no strangers to the Party in the Park stage, they were straight down to business. A big, melodic rock sound, excellent vocals, driving bass lines with searing leads.
On to our last Battle of the Bands act of 2015, from Plymouth, Pseudomorph. Their big sing-a-long anthems got the crowd worked into a frenzy, showing they're a class act.
While the judges pondered and calculated their scores our special guest of the evening, the legendary Professor Elemental, treated us to some of of his "Chap Hop" numbers.
So, on to the prize giving. Taking the runner up spots: The Morales win a gig at Exeter Cavern, Skyborn win £100 of Project Music vouchers and Ten Zero One win the physidigi merchandise prize.
2nd place goes to Black Static and with that they win a slot on the Chagstock Festival 2016 lineup.
And 1st place goes to Pseudomorph with them winning a live recording package courtesy of EWK Audio together with a video shoot package. BIG congratulations to Pseudomorph.
And finally the "Musician of the Night" prize goes to Dan, the bass player from Black Static, who took away a Blackstar amp donated by Project Music.
Rounding off the evening and keeping to our "Best of British" theme, Who's Next - Europe's #1 Tribute to The Who.

Thanks to our sponsors: Okehampton United Charities, The Plymouth Inn and Jump On Us. And to the Roundtable and The Lions for supplying our stewards.
Also to Okehampton Town Council, Hamlets Parish Council, West Devon Borough Council and Devon County Council for helping us to put the show on.
