BotB 2013 - Ten Zero One receive a place in the final.
Well... That was an awesome second heat. Five totally different bands, taking us through totally different musical territory.
We had songs about sad clowns and Rupunzel, we had acoustic love songs, we had two different rocks and we had blues.
This one really taxed the judges, who earn't their money tonight (not literally they do it for the love of BotB :) ), but as usual a decision had to be made. So, congratulations to Ten Zero One who will be joining us at the Party in the Park final on the 3rd of August.
The Skull Kids from Newton Abbot, started us with a pretty unique sound, songs about Rupunzel and a sad clown!!
A band that's played BotB before, Far From The Delta were up next with their entertaining "Dirty" blues. Loud and dirty indeed!
Thicketts & Thieves (although billed as Josh Bickley), our first Okehampton band of the competition. Some fantastic vocals, original songs, the summer sound. An excellent acoustic performance.
Next, The Fifty Shilling Tailors from Plymouth knocked it up another notch. Indie rock, plenty of swagger.
Then final band of the night, Ten Zero One, back again after making the final in 2011. They have certainly matured both in person and musically. A kicking rock fuelled finale to round the night off.
The Judges judged vigorously and managed to pick a winner, Ten Zero One will play in the final on Saturday the 3rd August.
So come and join us for Heat 3 in the Charter Hall again on Wednesday 17th July at 7pm with five more bands battling for a place Party in the Park Final and a headline set by 2012 winners Badland Bandits.
